Explosive Morning: One Dead, One Hurt In Separate Midday Baltimore Shootings Within 30 Minutes

One is dead and a second is hospitalized as police investigate a pair of separate shootings in Baltimore that happened within a half hour of each other shortly before noon on Wednesday.

It was a busy start to the day for members of the Baltimore Police Department's Southwest District, who were first called to the 2000 block of North Longwood Street at approximately 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 7, officials said.

Upon arrival, officers said they located a man with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body who was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics.

Minutes later, at approximately 11:59 a.m. on Wednesday, officers were then dispatched to the 44000 block of Edmondson Avenue, where there was a second reported shooting.

Upon arrival, they located a woman with a gunshot wound to his arm who was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

It is unclear if there is any connection between the two shooting incidents, which are both under investigation.
